Hayden Zillmer Prepped for First World Championships in Serbia


MINNEAPOLIS - Gopher Wrestling Club heavyweight Hayden Zillmer is ready to roll for his first World Championships later this week, as he is slated to compete on Thursday in the 125-kilogram weight class in Belgrade, Serbia.


He will be accompanied by newly-named GWC head coach Troy Steiner as well as training partner and Golden Gopher assistant coach Trevor Brandvold.


UWW released the brackets earlier this morning, as Zillmer enters the tournament as the 12-seed and will compete in the qualification round against Zyyamuhammet Saparov (Turkmenistan).


Action will begin will begin at 3:30am CST live on FloWrestling beginning with the qualification rounds with competition continuing into the late morning through the semifinal round. You can also follow along on Twitter at @GopherWC for live updates throughout the event.
